I think Bike Index use of the word Manufacturer is incorrect and causes confusion.
There are bicycle manufacturers and assembler, who put Brand Names on the various bicycles they produce.
Bike index should be using the term Brand Name in place of their term Manufacturer. Most of the bicycles are not manufactured by the company whose Brand Name is on the side of the bicycle.
